  3. The BSD filesystem for AmigaDOS was derived in part from the 1983
  4. BSD 4.2 paper, "A Fast File System for UNIX" - Marshall Kirk McKusick, 
  5. William N. Joy, Samuel J. Leffler, Robert S. Fabry of the University
  6. of California at Berkeley (Computer Systems Research Group).

  8. A modified version of the Berkeley BSD Tahoe include files are used
  9. as part of this program.  However, at no point during development was
  10. the Berkeley ufs filesystem source code consulted for ideas, techniques,
  11. algorithms, or other such aid in the development of this filesystem.
  12. Because of this, the filesystem is claimed to be compatible only
  13. with regard to data structure and not necessarily organization nor
  14. algorithmic policies.

  16. The programs fsck, mkfs, and diskpart were ported from BSD Tahoe
  17. to AmigaDOS by Chris Hooper.  The programs were modified heavily to
  18. accommodate AmigaDOS devices and reduce the system stack requirements.
  19. Because of this a warning must be issued that the operation of these
  20. programs may not be identical from their original sources, and may
  21. perform incorrectly with respect to the original implementation.

  23. The programs dumpfs, dcp, ln, BFFStool, rdb, chown, els, and mknod
  24. are utilities created mainly to support development of the filesystem.
  25. As with the rest of the software in this distribution it is not implied
  26. these utilities will perform to any expectations, expressed or implied.

  28. All aforementioned programs may do more harm than good to affected
  29. media.  I, in no way, guarantee correctness of the product and will
  30. not be held responsible for its use (or misuse).  This includes all
  31. damages incurred and loss of business.

  33. This package and support utilities represent a culmination (off and
  34. on) of three years work on my part.  All development was done on my
  35. own equipment.  In no way shall my employers, past or present, be 
  36. granted claim to ownership or the responsibilities thus implied by
